Despite the predictions of Barcelona falling down in the La Liga standings this season, Lionel Messi and his teammates have been standing tall, managing a perfect record of five wins in five games.

The Argentine star has also been on a roll in these early stages, with 9 goals in 5 La Liga games; and a brace against Juventus in the Champions League. His teammates have also been doing quite well, though the club’s record signing Ousmane Dembélé did injure his hamstring in the last fixture of the club against Getafe.

However, Yesterday’s game was routine for Valverde’s Barcelona. After Messi giving the lead to the Catalan club with a 20th-minute penalty, Paulinho netted his second goal of the season with a perfectly aimed header that left Eibar’s keeper powerless.

Denis Suarez would also bag a goal, despite playing in a relatively unusual position on Valverde’s lineup. Sergi Enrich would score Eibar’s one and only goal with a quality finish in the box, but this would only be to awaken Messi even more.

Barcelona’s captain would follow with a hat-trick in the span of less than half-an-hour, including quality plays with Paulinho and long-range shots from outside the box.

This hat-trick would show yet again that Messi is and always was Barcelona’s finest player, and that despite all the hardships the club may be going through, his ability to carry his team will never be diminished.
