Barça told that PSG ‘are not selling’ Di Maria

FC Barcelona have been actively pursuing replacements for Neymar. After being told to give up on a possible Philippe Coutinho deal, the Spanish giants were expected to find another target.

As their targets seem to get more expensive every day that passes, the Barça administration has set his sights on yet another winger to fill in the spot that is currently disputed between Paco Alcacer and Gérard Deulofeu. But this player will also not be joining Barcelona, despite some sources announcing that his arrival at Camp Nou will be imminent. And that player is none other than Angel Di Maria; the former Real Madrid, Manchester United and Benfica winger was expected to join Barcelona on a £45million deal just as recently as this morning, with The Sun and Sport saying that both clubs had agreed a deal regarding the transfer of the Argentine international.

Marca on the other hand, has reported that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made a phone call to the Barcelona administration, stating that Di Maria leaving the club is ‘impossible’ in this transfer window and that he should be a PSG player until the end of the season. This would make Angel Di Maria the third player to be refused a move to Barcelona after Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembélé – although this time, the player did not cause an outrage in the media regarding his club’s decision).
