Tottenham have been rather quiet this summer as they have yet to officialize any transfer going in, despite letting international fullback Kyle Walker leave to Manchester City. It seems as though they are now putting themselves back on the map with a recent attempt at buying Anthony Martial from Manchester United.

Manchester United have spent hundreds of millions of pounds this summer, signing Nemanja Matic, Victor Lindelöf and replacing Zlatan Ibrahimovic with Romelu Lukaku.

The arrival of Lukaku would make for tougher competition for a spot on the starting XI, with Rashford and Wilson also being able to play as strikers. However, it seems as though the newly defined role of Martial in the team has not impacted his stock in the transfer market.

Anthony Martial netted four league goals for Manchester United last season despite 25 Premier League appearances, and scored only once in United’s Europa League-winning campaign. The French international is expected to play tomorrow at Old Trafford in the Reds opening game against West Ham United.
